This was honestly my favorite part of the movie. It doesn't help that Nicholas Hoult does Broken and Alone and Searching for Guidance very, very well.Īnd, coming in last but certainly not least. There's a character in every movie that you want to adopt-and for Fury Road, it's Nux. I know for a fact I wouldn't look that good without my hair, and also covered in dust. No, look at them!Īnd the coolest thing is, they actually built all of the vehicles in the movie. There are so many awesome ladies in this movie helping and supporting each other it's ridiculous. While it is definitely a comment on environmentalism, Fury Road is also about a bad, bad man who uses women as breeding stock-and what happens when the women in question decide to fight back. no, honestly, this movie is really deep. Who killed the world is a recurring theme throughout the movie-a question asked repeatedly of those in power. Radiation from the sun riddles the remaining humans with malignant tumors, and automobiles of any kind, as well as oil and gasoline, are absolutely precious and vital to survival. In case you didn't know, the Mad Max franchise takes place in a world where wars over fossil fuels have destroyed the vast majority of life. I know that most people don't go to an action movie looking for commentary on environmentalism-but if you ever get a hankering for a dystopia that doesn't take two installments for the main characters to question their situation, Fury Road is your best bet. He commented on the fact that most post-apocalypse movies are washed of all their color and left with mostly grays and whites and pale blues, and that the production team of Fury Road wanted to make a dystopia that was full of color. In an interview after the movie premiered, the director was asked about the coloring of the film the intense saturation, the bright reds and greens and blues. There are a lot of reasons to watch an action movie: explosions, attractive actors and actresses, and a really awesome soundtrack are just a few.
